dB-Damp
ordering information of hearing protection and noise reduction products

Product Description-We take our dB-Bloc barrier vinyl and laminate it to a 1/4" polyurethane foam decoupler. This added affect helps to not only control sound tranmission through adding weight to your walls or ceilings, it also decouples some of the structural vibration by separating the weight of the vinyl from the wall it is being attached to.

It is used as both a barrier/absorber material and a barrier/decoupling material depending on which side of the material is mounted to a wall surface. By adhering the foam side to a vibrating wall surface, the foam cushions the noise energy that the barrier material is blocking. By adhering the barrier side to a wall, the external foam helps absorb noise being reflected back by the barrier material.

Tips:

This is a more popular product for floor underlayment where noise is transmitting up through the floor from the room down below. Use dB-Bloc alone for standard wall treatments, unless very severe impact or low bass noise is tranmitting laterally from room to room!

Installation Techniques:

Use the same techniques as discussed in the dB-Bloc section. Also, this material can be glued face down as a floor substrate prior to carpeting.
