Foam baffles are open cell polyurethane foam baffles that serve as acoustical baffles to absorb unwanted airborne sound reflections in a room.   These sound baffles hang vertically to absorb sound reflections and lower background noise.    Soundproofing baffles are ceiling mounted baffle panels that will control decibel level exposure in loud manufacturing plants and other noisy venues.

Open cell polyurethane foam baffles offer high end absorption coefficients, but are not class A fire rated.    Their primary venues for treatment should be industrial plants and other non public locations.     Hang them in a checkerboard pattern to avoid the "combing" effect where sound waves reflect through parallel sets of baffles without ever being intercepted.     Also consider the VET Baffles as a possible alternative where you need moisture protection or a class A fire rated baffle.
