Gymnasium
ordering information of hearing protection and noise reduction products

Problem:  Unwanted sound reverberation in a large gymnasium or other multipurpose facility causes impaired speech intelligibility, poor musical quality, and noise pollution during sporting events.

Goal:  Control the echo. Make the environment comfortable for a listening audience, a sporting event, a loudspeaker system, a dance, musical or any other social function.

Solution:  A Class A fire rated wall or ceiling treatment with the appropriate acoustical product will serve to intercept the path of the sound reflection and dissipate the noise problem. An untreated Gym will typically have a 4-10 second echo, while human ear can tolerate a 1.5-2.0 second echo. With the right product, we'll drop your echo down to an acceptable level and better control your acoustic environment.

Products:

Fabric Wall Panels are available in 50 colors and cut to any size required. These are compressed fiberglass panels designed for gluing or clipping to wall surfaces. Ideal for treatment in a gymnasium by positioning panels around the perimeter of the room at the top of the wall. They add wonderful aesthetics and sound absorption qualities into the room.

Silence Wallcovering is a thin, ribbed polyester fabric material designed for controlling human voice. Ideal application for a wainscoting treatment around the base of the wall in a gymnasium. Not recommended if bass music is involved in the room due to the thinness of the material, but ideal if human voice is the primary noise culprit in a facility where durability is a must!

VET Baffles are 2'x4' fiberglass panels wrapped in colorful PVC skins and suspended vertically from the ceiling. They are ideal for a metal joist ceiling application in a gymnasium, and can be wrapped in several decorative colors to match school logos! our most cost effective means by which to effectively treat a gymnasium for sound control!

FireFlex is a melamine foam based product cut into a 2'x4' panel and adhered directly to a wall surface. Ideal for upper wall treatment in a gymnasium. These panels are more brittle than the other products, and are not recommended in sporting facilities with low ceilings.

Silex Panels are a 1" flat melamine foam based product faced with the Silence Wallcovering material. Ideal for upper wall panel treatment in a Gymnasium where Silence Wallcovering is used as a wainscoting treatment along the lower base of the wall. Note that the sides of these panels are exposed, unlike our Fabric Panels .
