Industrial Noise Control with Hearing Protection in Your Factory
Will Decrease On-The-Job Stress
Noise
Problem: Airborne noise from industrial facilities is hazardous
to the long-term health of employees. Hearing protection and other
noise control measures boost morale and productivity, decrease stress,
lower staff turnover, and improve the quality of product output.
Goal: In order to meet standard OSHA noise requirements,
it's necessary to keep pressure readings below 85 decibels, measured
over an eight-hour period. Our noise abatement products create a
safer, more enjoyable working environment.
Noise
Abatement Solution: Break your noise reduction effort
down into stages. Work with NetWell's noise consultants to implement
effective industrial hearing protection products, and maximize your
noise control needs. We've serviced countless applications just
like the one you will be describing to us. Ask us what's worked
best elsewhere, and we'll pattern the same sound control solution
for you.
Perform a simple walk-through of your facility and first note whether any of your noise issues stem from stationary and enclosable machinery. Start there and install our transmission loss products to keep noise in and prevent the source of the sound from becoming airborne. Call and ask our consultants for help with this first step. Remember that typically less than 10% of your noise control problems are enclosable, but those that are can yield 15-20 dB drops.
Beyond that, center your attention on the unenclosable noise problems.
Call us with the physical dimensions of your facility, and our consultants
will guide you to the best noise
absorption products for your hearing protection needs. These
are typically wall- or ceiling-mounted noise reduction and hearing
protection products that will intercept the path of the unwanted
sound reflection within the room and lower your readings.
Note: Treating your industrial plant with our products will provide maximum hearing protection for you and your employees. Remember, transmission loss products surrounding your enclosable noise sources will typically yield a 15-20 dB drop for your noise abatement needs, while our sound absorption products for unenclosable noise sources will yield a 3-8 dB drop. Also, note that the dB drops are algorithmic: For every 3 dB drop you achieve, you'll actually be cutting sound pressure levels by another 50 percent!
Products that offer maximum hearing protection and industrial
noise reduction:
BARRIER MATERIALS
QBS-1 Blankets are industrial-strength curtains cut to size. They're an easy to install silencer that can be draped around sources for full or partial portable enclosures. Suspended from either the facility ceiling or a frame, these fire rated blankets are powerful noise silencers, yielding a 15-20 dB decrease if properly installed. Holes, slits, patches and windows can all be cut to customize them for your facility. QBS-1 Blankets are ideal for treating stationary industrial sources such as compressors, furnaces and grinders. They are also ideal when used to create portable partitions that section off an infested bay from the rest of the plant, or when draped against a sheet rock wall to protect adjoining offices.
dB-Bloc is
a thin, weighted vinyl sound barrier sewn into the interior of the
QBS-1 blankets. These sound silencers can be ordered individually
and applied to any wall surface in order to insulate employees and
protect their hearing.
NetLag Ductwrap is a 1' thick fiberglass sound jacket composed of batting lined with dB-Bloc vinyl and coated with an aluminized Mylar skin. This muffling product is ideal for wrapping around any industrial ductwork or piping where airflow or liquid flow threatens hearing protection.
FBF-lM Panels are 4'x4' sheets of a layered acoustic enclosure lining material designed for interior wall surfaces of homemade boxes or shrouds that enclose stationary sources. These panels are easy to cut and glue, and yield 15-20 dB of hearing protection.
Absorption Products Designed for Maximum Airborne Hearing Protection
Polyurethane
foam panels are popular industrial noise control sound panels for
wall treatments. These silencer panels dissipate sound vibrations
by eliminating echo, and convert sound energy into kinetic energy.
Thicker material will attack lower frequency sound sources. These
sound silencers can be applied by glue with silicone based adhesives
or attached by Velcro to the walls surrounding industrial machines.
For oil infested areas, ask NetWell about our Hypalon skin treatment
to protect the foam for long term wear. There are several choices
available in charcoal, blue, beige or brown colors. All polyurethane
foam products are UL94 HF-1 fire rated, or can be cut out of Melamine
foam to meet Class A fire requirements.
WEDGES are non-symmetrical 2'x4' rectangles cut into an eggshell convolute on its face. Available in 2", 3" and 4" thicknesses.
PYRAMIDS are symmetrical 2'x2' panels cut into a pyramid bevel design. Pyramids are more aesthetic than wedges and are available in the 2", 3" and 4" thickness.
MAX SOUNDBLOCKS are symmetrical 12" x 12" cubes of thick foam designed to treat low bass noise, or for lining enclosures around sound testing chambers for maximum anechoic affect.
BAFFLES are 2'x4' noise abatement baffles designed for vertical suspension from your facility to contain airborne noise. Ideal for larger plants where no nearby wall surfaces are available, or as a compliment to wall treatments where additional absorption is required.
FIREFLEX Melamine Foam acoustic panels are Class A fire rated, designed for acoustic treatment in high temperature areas or where open flames exist. Also appropriate as a foam treatment in any public facility. 2'x4' in size, and available in multiple thicknesses.
VET BAFFLES are fiberglass pieces cut into 2'x4' rectangles, wrapped in a PVC skin, and grommetted in two corners for vertical suspension from your ceiling above the footprint of your loudest industrial noise floor space. Figure one baffle for every 5 square feet. Available in multiple colors, vet baffles are ideal noise silencers for airborne sound absorption where moisture or oil mist is prevalent, or where a dust free environment is required, such as above a printing press.
USDA PANELS
are approved for use in hearing protection and absorbing unwanted
noise in any clean room environment. Cut as a baffle to hang vertically,
a drop in ceiling tile, or a sound panel mounted around the perimeter
of your walls. Applications include food processing plants, kitchens,
pharmaceutical plants and other scientific laboratories.
