Your goal:  Proper Framing / Insulation Techniques to Isolate Noise

dB-Bloc

Layer this sound barrier membrane behind your drywall to help isolate one room's noise from the next.

RSIC Clips

These are mechanical clips that you could anchor to your wall so they can accept hat channels.   The Clips are one way to provide a "disconnect" in your common wall or ceiling structure, as the final drywall layer is attached ot the face of the hat channels, creating a dead air gap in your new wall assembly.

Green Glue

Green Glue is a constrained layer that is applied like caulk between two layers of drywall.   The goal with the material is to offset the sturcture born vibrations that take place in a double drywall assembly, as the emulsion will decay vibration rates and help isolate one room's noise from the next.

Ceiling Caps

If your wall stops at a drop grid tile level, with an open plenum space above, compliment your dB-Bloc treamtent with this insulation plate that rests atop your ceiling tiles.   This will help combat the leak of noise through the plenum to the adjoining room.

NetLag

Wrap your exposed pipes and ducts prior to finishing off your walls or ceilings.   This sound barrier membrane can help deaden sound emanating out through the walls of your pipe or duct to protect your rooms from ventillation or plumbing noise.
