Description
RA, Fail Safe EF, and RAEM machinery mounts are universal mountings for machinery and equipment that vibrate because of their rotating parts such as gen-sets, compressors, combustion engines, fans, generators, mills, paper machines, pumps and printing machines to name a few. RA and Fail Safe EF mounts are also suitable for presses, punches and other workshop machines. This mount family utilizes rubber as the vibration isolator. The rubber profile is designed to be used in shear and compression for predictable performance. The mount is vertically soft, laterally sable and features a low profile making installation easy. The mount design features a threaded insert which allows the subject machine to be directly connected to the mount. This "machine to mount" connection is independent of the anchoring connection between the mount and the floor thus mitigating the transmission of vibration and noise to surrounding environments. The RAEM mount is a further development of the RA mount where EM stands for "extra soft". The RAEM is primarily for the same applications as the RA mount where a higher degree of isolation is required. All three of these mounts are fitted with a shock-proof device (up to 5 g) featuring a resilient stop making them ideal for mobile or marine applications.
It is not always necessary to secure these mounts to the floor based on the dynamic forces of some equipment; RA, Fail Safe EF and RAEM mounts will perform to specifications given proper loading.
The RA and Fail Safe EF mounts provide a degree of isolation of around 75-85% for normal speeds of approximately 1500 RPM. The RAEM mount provides a degree of isolation of around 85-95% for normal speeds of approximately 1500 RPM and gives a good isolation even with low frequency machines.
All mounts are available in several sizes with wide load rating options which make them suitable for both light and heavy machinery applications. For applications requiring high resilience at low loads, consider the Type M mount.
