Description

Quantum PM Mounts for heavy duty stamping presses eliminate the need to anchor the subject machine to the floor.   These machine mounts solve impact-shock and vibration isolation problems while providing precision leveling and alignment for trouble-free operation and industrial noise control.  Quantum PM Mounts are designed for use with reciprocating or impact machinery exhibiting severe vertical dynamics.  The extra heavy-duty construction features broad bases and large diameter leveling bolts which provide close tolerance leveling adjustment capability.  These mounts are equipped with appropriately designed resilient isolation pads that structurally disconnect the machine from the floor or foundation to help prevent the transmission of vibration and noise into the surrounding environment.

All too often presses are installed by simply setting them in place on the shop floor with no consideration for proper installation.  Special foundations are sometimes used to provide adequate support, especially with larger tonnage presses.  When used without proper support, a multitude of problems can occur, from unwanted vibrations to premature wear of press components to die failure, etc.  Due to excessive shock and vibration caused by the operation of the press, isolation materials such as felt, rubber and composite have sometimes been placed under the press feet with shims used for leveling.  This methodology does not address the problem of fast, easy, and accurate leveling, nor of maintaining alignment for the subject machine.  For this reason the press mount was developed to provide both ease of leveling and alignment, as well as vibration isolation.

Press mounts have provided a way to allow presses to perform at optimum levels, while reducing the cost of installation, operation and maintenance.  By absorbing shock, impact, and vibration forces in the press mount, the shop environment becomes less conducive to operator fatigue.  Other cost savings include fewer scrap parts and less building damage to floors, foundations, etc.

Press mounts are an engineered product dependent upon the subject machine's design and application.  A "Press Mount Calculation Sheet" must be completed and submitted to accurately evaluate the press for a press mount recommendation.  A  variety of isolation pad materials and configurations are available to meet the requirements of almost any press application.  There are ten standard sizes with over 150 standard individual mount configurations.

Quantum PM Press Mounts meet OSHA standards for anchoring machinery.
