Soundporofing an Interrogation Room

Robins Air Force Base
The Challenge
The 78th Security Forces Squadron of the US Air Force is located at the Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia. Critical to their success is the need to host confidential interviews within their interrogation room on the Base. They contacted NetWell Noise Control for help in isolating this room acoustically from the rest of their facility.
The Treatment

To deaden noise bleeding through their existing finished walls, Robbins Air Force Base sought an acoustical wall panel system that could be surface mounted direct to their existing finished walls. The hybrid product FabricBloc combines both the absorption qualities of NetWell's Fabric Panels, and the sound barrier qualities of dB-Bloc. Robbins submitted the dimensional size of the surrounding walls of their room, and NetWell cut a corresponding set of FabricBloc panels. Each panel was carefully anchored to the wall, covering 100% of the common surface around the perimeter of the room.
The Result
As a result of the full FabricBloc Panel treatment around the entire perimeter of the room, Robbins Air Force Base had created a secure room with interviews guaranteed for privacy. The treatment served to both deaden the bleed of noise out through all common wall surfaces, and absorb sound reflections within the room for quality sound recording of their interviews.
