Soundproofing a Sanctuary

Spring Valley United Methodist Church

Spring Valley United Methodist Church contacted NetWell Noise Control for help in solving their poor room acoustics within their sanctuary.   The choir was seated in the loft at the rear of the church during worship services, the congreagation seated below, the speech intelligibility was poor, and the choir's music was hampered by unwanted echoes that were causing background noise.   Something needed to be done to create a more user friendly space for their worship services.
 

The Treatment

Charles McManus contacted NetWell on behalf of his church.  After a careful study of the layout and design of the sanctuary, the decision was made to push forward with the installation of a set of decorative Fabric Panels supplied by NetWell Noise Control.   After reviewing the size, shape and surface textures in the room, NetWell calculated the square foot totals that were to be introduced into the space.   Charles measured the wall space, created a materials list of panel sizes and quantities, and selected their color.   Production took 4 weeks to produce the panels and drop ship them to the church.

The Results

After the installation of the Fabric Panels, Charles McManus emails NetWell:

"Sorry to take so long to get back with you on the panels.  We had the dedication of the renovation of our sanctuary last Sunday, October 2, 2011.  The audio is outstanding.  We installed an all new sound system but the reverberating problem was solved by the NetWell sound panels.

We unloaded and installed all of the panels ourselves.  Overall the job went real well with a few small hitches along the way.  The pallet was too large for the hydraulic tail gate and we had to brake the shipment inside the truck.  One of the clips on the bottom panel was jerked off.  I do not know if the problem was caused by the 4' X 10' panels or too much on one pallet.  All of the 18 panels downstairs went up real well.  The large panels in the balcony were a challenge because of the uneven floors and the walls were not straight.  

We appreciate the products and support we got from Netwell Noise Control.  You willingly slipped our ship date when we got behind so we did not have to find a place to store the panels.  You were quick to answer our phone calls and emails when we had a question and our panels look good and work perfect.  We will
recommend you to anyone that has a need for sound panels."
