Product Description-These 2'x4' rectangular polyurethane foam panels are cut with the standard egg shell face. Available in 2", 3" or 4" thicknesses, they are a popular
choice for sound control in most industrial environments.A convoluted surface pattern, cut into the face of the material, is designed to maximize the acoustic absorption qualities of the foam. The open cell
structure dissipates noise energy to control harsh reflected noise and reverberations in a variety of applications. Tips: First note that foam DOES NOT block sound from transmitting
through a wall. These Wedges will instead absorb echo bouncing back into the room to control reverberation. Go with thicker panels if your noise is either low bass in frequency, or is
impact rather than constant. For transmission loss or enclosure linings, check our dB-Bloc
or FBF-1M panels. Also note that this cut of foam is not
symmetrical. The pattern may not align from piece to piece, but this choice is less expensive than the Pyramids!Installation Techniques: The standard installation technique includes adhering these panels directly to any smooth wall surface with a caulking
gun and any silicone adhesive. One tube of glue for every 4 sheets of acoustic Wedges, or approximately one tube for every 32 square feet. Also,
adhering the foam to plywood first, and then bolting the plywood to the wall provides mobility of the material. Also, mounting the foam on plywood
designed to "freestand" near a noise source can give you a portable noise control screen that can be moved out of the way. For overhead treatment, see our Acoustic Baffles to your immediate left. To treat noise transmission, see our dB-Bloc barrier material
.For portability, you could opt to put them up with velcro strips or double stick tape. Cut the foam from the back side with a carpet cutter or utility
knife.
