The Challenge: Controlling Noise in a Large Indoor Waterpark

Splash Indoor Waterpark in Oswego, New York, faced a significant noise issue. The large open space, hard surfaces, and constant activity created an environment with excessive echo and reverberation. The noise made communication difficult for both guests and staff, especially during peak hours, and detracted from the overall experience.

The Solution: VET Baffles for Wet Environments

The Splash team reached out to NetWell Noise Control for an acoustic treatment solution. After reviewing the space, the team selected custom-sized VET Baffles (72”W x 24”H) — vertically suspended, PVC-wrapped sound baffles with a high NRC rating of 1.07 (≈8.54 sabins per baffle). To ensure long-term durability in the humid waterpark environment, Splash upgraded to stainless steel grommets.

The baffles were strategically spaced throughout the facility to optimize sound absorption while maintaining visual harmony with the park’s aesthetic.
