Treating Common Wall Noise > Adjacent Wall Reminder

A reminder that if you target your dB-Bloc sound barrier treatment to a common wall separating two rooms, that the adjacent walls if left untreated, can accept the vibrations from the noise in the room, and deliver structure born energy around your common wall treatment. It is often the case with lower level basements with two common walls to the building's exterior...why treat those, right? Well in fact, you should. Otherwise those walls will accept sound vibrations and deliver the energy throughout the structure of the building like an electrical current might travel. So depending on the degree to which you want to invest in and deliver the most favorable results, consider treating your adjacent walls with the same dB-Bloc barrier treatment you assign to the common wall.

This is great advice and its well worth investing in treating the adjacent walls too so you get the most benefit.
