Cafeteria Noise

Cafeterias are always defined by hard reflective surfaces that make it easy to keep surfaces clean and control the spread of sticky germs. But those same surfaces can cause havoc on the sound wave reflections in the space. As a result, which is the case with the Davis County Elementary School, echoes carry throughout the cafeteria and spike the noise to unwanted levels.

Controlling Echoes

Once Davis County discovered NetWell’s sound panels, it soon became apparent that they were interested in creating a tackable soundboard system that would allow them to simultaneously lower the noise in the room, and create a bulletin board style perimeter panel system. NetWell introduced them to the FabricTack Panel, which would combine to both lower the noise in the room, and allow the students to tack up their seasonal school projects up on the perimeter walls.

Tackable Sound Panels

FabricTack Panels are cloth wrapped compressed fiberglass acoustic panels that we cut to size and wrap to the color of your choice. The panels double as bulletin boards because we add a thin membrane behind the cloth that gives the panel the ability to accept tacks. Their edges are resin dipped to make them crush proof, and clip systems are included with your order to help secure them to your perimeter wall or ceiling surface. These panels are decorative, durable, portable, easy to self-install, class A fire rated, and our number one selling sound panel system for most any commercial space.

Results

As a result of the sound panel treatment, NetWell’s FabricTack Acoustic Panels collapsed more than 50% of the unwanted echoes in the room, while providing the tackability the students enjoy as they are able to brand their space with their creative output. The sound panels made the cafeteria a pleasant and safe environment for lunch, and for hosting other events held within the space.
